On Friday, April 18th Ashbourne Farms will partner with Memento Mori to offer you an exclusive experience. Join us for a reception-style tasting featuring several rare Memento Mori wines paired with a farm-fresh culinary experience crafted by Culinary Director Chef Ryan Smith and Executive Chef Jeff Dailey.
Memento Mori’s Flagship is crafted by Sam Kaplan, and highlights a collection of Napa Valley’s most historic and acclaimed vineyards – Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, Beckstoffer Las Piedras, Weitz Vineyard, Oakville Ranch and Vine Hill Ranch. With each vintage, Sam’s goal is to combine elegance, power, aromatics, and texture to create beautifully balanced wines that are approachable in their youth, but have enough structure to cellar for long-term aging.

About Memento Mori
Ask most serious wine collectors to tell you about the most sought-after and highly rated wines to come out of Napa Valley and they are likely to include Memento Mori. In a sea of small Cabernet producers in Napa, Memento Mori stands out for their legendary vineyards. These are true small-production wines, with less than 900 cases made of their 100-pt ‘Flagship’ Cabernet Sauvignon. Stylistically, the Memento Mori wines have always favored savory over fruit-forward flavors - loaded with freshness to balance the intensity.

Founded in 2010 by three childhood friends, Adriel Lares, Hayes Drumwright, and Adam Craun, the name, Memento Mori, is taken from an ancient Latin philosophy that reminds us of our mortality. However, after experiencing some serious health scares and family tragedies throughout their friendship, Memento Mori is instead interpreted by the founders as “Remember to Live.” This shared mantra is a reminder that since nothing in life is guaranteed, we need to embrace all the ups and downs that come with it, while also taking risks along the way to experience the greatest rewards.
Allocations of the Memento Mori wines can only be acquired through time on their mailing list, however, when they travel to bring their curated experiences on the road, they extend coveted allocations to those who attend these intimate events.
