Since its inception, Ashbourne Farms has encouraged the next generation to love nature and be curious about their natural surroundings. Today, it’s no different. We love hosting educational tours for Kentucky schools. Most recently, Oldham County first graders made the trip to Ashbourne Farms to learn about daily life on a working farm. Over the course of the day, the children visited different stations to learn about what we do.
The children met our farm animals and got a chance to get up close and personal with Ashbourne’s calves, friendly donkeys, and happy chickens. They walked the gardens and learned about growing vegetables and met our resident beekeeper who showed them honeycomb. A hayride through the pumpkins patch capped off the day and they got to see the ingredients that our Executive Chef would prepare for their farm-to-table snack.
